Our cover story features º£½ÇÉçÇøstudent Samira Bechara, a dual French and international studies major, who created a culinary outreach project called Le Beirut to raise money for the victims of the Aug. 4, 2020 explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. Bechara’s father was born in Beirut and she spent summers visiting relatives there.
Speaking of outreach, you also can read about alumnus Henry Singer, a retired engineer, who has created a scholarship for º£½ÇÉçÇø students looking to major in engineering or the sciences. Singer, who worked his way through º£½ÇÉçÇø, says he understands some of the financial challenges students face.
Other highlights include how alumna April Dupré turned a passion for fitness into an entrepreneurial enterprise and how restaurateur Scot Craig’s life lessons helped steer his business through a global pandemic.
